Q : How have you gravitated toward visual art?
A : I wouldn’t say I ever gravitated, it just seemed to be always what I wanted to do.
Q : What is your favourite Medium to work in?
A : I guess pencil/graphite would be the one medium that I seem to always use. I do a lot of mix media stuff, but in my paintings, graphite plays a large role in my process.
Q : Whats your least favourite color?
A : My color sensibilities have changed a lot over the years. For example, I used to hate pink, but now, pink pops up in a lot of my work. I guess the very primary colors, red, blue, and yellow, seem to have always felt unnatural to me in a way.
Q : Educated or Self-Taught?
A : This is a tough question. I went to a normal college in America and my major was painting and printmaking. However, everything that I do now is a result of reading a lot of art books and doing a lot exploring and experimenting.
Q : What is your hope for your work?
A : I strive to create a strong sense of narrative that shrouds the viewer in a sense of mystery. It also explores the ideas of nature, and how it affects us as humans, both emotionally and physically.
